Channel Four Picks Up Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Great news for Agent Coulson (and the rest of us), because Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. has officially been picked up for British TV; specifically, Channel 4 has snagged the spin-off series. No date for a premiere has been announced yet, but we'll be seeing it on our screens this autumn.

Channel 4 have also picked up a trio of new Warner Bros. TV shows, including Jerry Bruckheimer 24-alike drama Hostages, post-apocalyptic sci-fi The 100, and the X-Men-meets-Scannersy-sounding The Tomorrow People. The first will screen on C4, the latter two on E4.

There's no doubting which the big one is, though. "Like the Super Hero universe from which it has come, Marvel’s Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. is big, bold and absolutely exhilarating," enthuses Channel 4's Jay Hunt. "Featuring the production values you’d expect from Marvel and ABC Studios, this is family entertainment at its most exciting.”

Amen to that. Featuring Bluetooth warrior Clark Gregg as the mysteriously reincarnated Agent Phil Coulson, the show will focus on a small, highly select group of agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization. His team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), highly trained in combat and espionage, Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen) expert pilot and martial artist, Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker), brilliant engineer, Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge), genius biochemist, and mystery recruit, computer hacker Skye (Chloe Bennet). This trailer and batch of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. pics shows this in action.

Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. will air in the US on ABC starting September 24. Expect it in these parts soon after.

Can't agree more, I was dreading this going to and forever being lost to Murdoch TV, well done Channel 4. Fingers crossed we get the series pretty soon after the US airings and don't end up waiting for a couple of years. More

L: TEFFH There was a remake of the 70's Tomorrow people made in the early 90's starring some kid from Neighbours, someone who went on to play "Duck" in BSG and a minor actress going by the name of Naomie Harris.... As for Coulson. Did he actually die? Sure he slumped against the bulkhead, and Fury called for medic's, but after that you only get "honest" Nick Fury's annoucement that Coulson died, which when coupled with the "blood stained" cigarette cards is about as reliable as a More
