Extended Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones Clip Online
Clary's in trouble...

It was already screened at San Diego Comic-Con, but for the benefit of the wider world a new clip from Mortal Instruments: City Of Bones is now online, for the viewing pleasure of all fans of young adult fantasy.

The clip finds heroine Clary Fray (Lily Collins) figuring out why it is that she’s been seeing strange symbols everywhere, which not so coincidentally is around the same time she meets the aloof, demon-battling Shadowhunter Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bowers).

But while the scales are falling from Clary’s eyes – turns out she’s also a Shadowhunter, who will play a pivotal part in the upcoming battle betwixt good and evil – her mother Jocelyn (Lena Headey) is under threat from some very nasty people, including Kevin Durand’s Emil Pangborn. Can Clary figure what has happened? And will she embrace her destiny?

The bigger questions will have to wait for the film itself and its already-in-development sequel, City Of Ashes. Before that can happen, though, City Of Bones lands on August 21.

Why make the heroine so annoying?
Mum manages to say just one thing - don't come home so the heroine goes straight home because that's the most annoying thing she can do. Guy has to turn up to save her from her stupid mistake so of all people that's who she refuses to believe, given the evidence all points towards him being the only person she can trust. I love heroines (after all, what would Buffy do) but not when lazy writing like this puts them in such needy positions in order to reach an arc of self reliance. Ripley and Conn More
