Exclusive: Only God Forgives Soundtrack Sampler
Music to watch Ryan Gosling by...

Only God Forgives Soundtrack Cover

It's a wholly different animal, granted, but Nicolas Winding Refn's Only God Forgives does reunite a few of the ingredients that made Drive such a cult hit. There's Ryan Gosling's brooding charisma, moments of brutal violence, dazzling photography and a pulsing score by Cliff Martinez.

The latter is especially relevant because we've put together a special Soundcloud sampler featuring seven tracks from the album. See, totally relevant. None-more-relevant, you might say. But now the time has come to extricate yourself from all this revelance and listen to it.

Enjoyed it? The whole Martinez soundtrack is available on CD, digital download and old-school LP formats from July 29.

Only God Forgives stars Gosling as Julian, a Westerner living in Bangkok. His brother is killed in revenge for slaughtering a young prostitute, and Julian's hard-as-nails mother (Kristin Scott Thomas) expects her younger son to take revenge on his killers. Only one problem: the man responsible is Chang (Vithaya Pansringarm), a terrifying retribution machine working with the city's police.

Only God Forgives is in cinemas on August 2. Find out what Empire thought of it right here.

Despite the negative reviews (Empire's excluded), after listening to this soundtrack, I can't help but want to see it now! More
