Harrison Ford Talks Ender's Game And Comic-Con
'I'm lightly sedated and glad to be here'

Forget words like 'tentpole', 'franchise potential' and 'massive author-caused controversy', because what Ender's Game is really about is sending Han Solo back into space. A "lightly sedated" Harrison Ford, with director Gavin Hood and stars Asa Butterfield and Hailee Steinfeld at the San Diego Comic-Con, told us what to expect.

Ender's Game tells the tale of a young boy genius called Ender Wiggin (Butterfield) who’s sent to a giant space satellite-cum-battle school in the sky to train to become the best tactical mind in the galaxy. Which is where Ford comes in. He plays crotchety headmaster Colonel Hyrum Graff, who, along with the legendary half-Maori tactician Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley) and the altogether more caring Major Anderson (Viola Davis), must train them to defeat an insect-like alien enemy and save the human race. Lesson one: shoot first.

When we weren't chatting to cast and crew, there was also the Ender's Game experience to explore, a prop-filled museum dedicated to the sci-fi, and watching its filmmakers tackle the unwelcome Orson Scott Card controversy at its Hall H panel.

Ender's Game is out on these shores on October 25.
