Sam Mendes Confirmed For Bond 24
Bond will be back in October 2015

Skyfall

He wasn't, then he was... maybe. Now Sony have made it official: Sam Mendes will be back behind the camera for Bond 24. The director, so assured on Skyfall but initially hesitant to commit to another 00-instalment, has thrilled the Bond faithful with the news that he'll be back for another slug of espionage.

"I am very pleased that by giving me the time I need to honour all my theatre commitments", Mendes said in a statement, "the producers have made it possible for me to direct Bond 24. I very much look forward to taking up the reins again, and to working with Daniel Craig, Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli for a second time.”

Wilson and Broccoli added: "Following the extraordinary success of Skyfall, we're really excited to be working once again with Daniel Craig, Sam Mendes and John Logan.”

We've rearranged the Bond 24 press release, scanned it for anomalies, dyed it blue, held it to the sunlight, but still haven't spotted a single clue about whether or not Blofeld will be in it. What it does reveal is that we Brits will see it ahead of Felix Leiter's mob. The UK release is October 23, 2015, while it has a US release scheduled for November 6.

For those keeping score, this further cements 2015's status as the Biggest Year For Films In All The History Of Ever, as Bond 24 joins Star Wars: Episode VII, Avengers 2, Terminator 5 (in theory), Independence Day 2 (if that goes as planned), The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2, and Pirates Of The Caribbean 5. Not to mention other potentially huge animated films, non-sequels and the rest of the slate.

While you're here, enjoy a few stills of Sam Mendes on the set of Skyfall as well as an early video of Mendes discussing taking on his first Bond film.

Finding it hard to be excited, Skyfall had a lot going for it but it was no Casino Royale. Also means David Arnold is not going to do the score, not good. More

Back to source
As normal I will count down the dats until Bond 24 is released but not happy with the Craig/Mendes tie up. Skyfall was not an ok film but was not a Bond movie, We need a good story with the right mix of drama vs action ensuring that the the story is about Bond and not a tiff between his boss and her first boy. The producers should go back to source and use the books again, in my opinion the two best films in the series are OHMSS and Casino Royale which are direct references to the novel More

L: Cool Breeze Wonder if Mendes will manage to make his next Bond even more boring and nonsensical than Skyfall onsidering you're predisposed to hating any future Daniel Craig era Bond films, I think you know the answer to this one. L: Mister Coe SKYFALL wasn't dull but e to see Bond have come funis job again... as his last line went, 'with pleasure...' I don't want invisible cars or big undersea volcano bases, but I want huge mental action sequences, Bond to shag at least three women and, for gods sake, give him more funny lines, plus a big extravagent death scene for the main villain, not just Bond chucking a knife from off-screen. happy07.gif] More

the same director has been used twice in a row for a Bond film? how is it possible to dislike Skyfall?
what do people want?! more gadgets? more silly one-liners? more invisible cars? or do they just want casino royale again and again and again? Bond has to keep being different and exciting. he's not John McClane for fucksake! nor is he Bourne (thank God - surely the dullest action character ever) he is an amalgam of the 60s, the 70s, the 80s and 90s and then to top it off in the 21st century we have the best Bond of all. Connery will always be the originator but the world is different n More

Great news!
Sam Mendes brought Bond back on track after QOS and set things up perfectly for more to come! Skyfall is by far one of the best Bond films which has a true Ian Fleming feel to it. Can't wait to see where the next one will go and with Mendes on board again I just know I'm gonna love it! More

RE: The Man With The Golden Bile Duct
Excellent news. Personally, I'd like to see it take a different tack to Skyfall - as much as I loved it, the ending suggested that Bond would be doing something less angsty (even if I hate that wanky term) from now on - but hopefully it'll live up to that standard of quality. Oh, and have the gunbarrel at the 37 minute mark AND NOWHERE ELSE. More
