Latest Snowpiercer Trailer Online
Chris Evans stirs up revolution

Based on everything so far from Bong Joon-Ho’s Snowpiercer, the dystopian sci-fi drama is one we definitely want to see. But despite this HD release of a new international trailer, there’s still little indication when we might see the movie in the UK, or even Stateside despite a pickup by The Weinstein Company. For now, though, check out the latest promo, which has a little bit of new footage.

Adapted by the director and Kelly Masterson from Benjamin Legrand and Jacuqes Lob’s graphic novel Le Transperceneige, Snowpiercer is set at a time after an experiment to reverse global warming has gone catastrophically, chillingly wrong.

With much of the Earth’s climate ruined and the world wrapped in a shroud of snowy blizzards, surviving humans circle the globe in a massive train that wends its way through the gusts and flakes.

A class system has developed, with the poor living in the train's tail and the rich living in the front. One man (Chris Evans) has had enough, and seeks to reach the front of the train to benefit everyone on it. Among those seeking to stop him is the strangely dressed Mason (Tilda Swinton).

While we’re still wondering where Swinton’s character got her accent – South Yorkshire? – the tone here seems suitably foreboding and the cast, which includes Jamie Bell, Alison Pill, John Hurt, Octavia Spencer, Ewen Bremner and Ed Harris, is certainly impressive.

South Korean audiences will see this on August 1. We’ll have to keep waiting…
