William H Macy can usually be found in indie movies, even if he has to squeeze them in between seasons of the US version of Shameless. He’s part of the cast for another, Walter, based on a short film.
Walter, which will star the short’s original lead Andrew J West, follows a young man who believes that he’s the son of God and that he has to make sure he looks after the eternal destiny of everyone he meets. That's a tough job given that he also has to handle his loving yet neurotic mother, a low-paid job at a cinema and his unrequited love for one of his co-workers.
Virginia Madsen, Peter Facinelli, Justin Kirk, Neve Campbell, Leven Rambin and Milo Ventimiglia are also starring in the film, which Anna Mastro is making as her directorial debut. She’s cranking the cameras now in Indiana and Los Angeles from Paul Schoulberg’s script.
In addition to causing chaos on Shameless, Macy will also be seen in Clark Gregg’s Trust Me, Two-Bit Waltz and his latest directing project, Rudderless.
