Ride Along Teaser Heads Out On Web Patrol
Ice Cube's not keen on Kevin Hart

01 July 2013  |  Written by James White

By now, pretty much every possible permutation of the mismatched buddy cop duo has been tried and tested on film. So you can forgive Ride Along for looking and feeling a little less than fresh. Still, it boasts Kevin Hart being a twitchy smart mouth and Ice Cube being snarly and tough, so take a look at the teaser below.

Let’s not forget, this is early days for the film’s promotional campaign. Who knows what secrets lurk within its full running time? Tim Story directs the tale of Ben (Hart), a school security guard head over heels in love with Angela (Tika Sumpter). He intends to marry her, but there’s just one small problem: he has to win the approval of her unforgiving police brother James (Cube).

When Ben signs up to the police academy and asks James how he can make inroads with him, the take-no-prisoners copper suggests a ride along. So begins a cavalcade of mistakes, mishaps and slapstick as Ben tries to prove himself worthy.

Ride Along will drive into US cinemas on January 17 next year, but there’s no set UK date yet.
