New Prince Avalanche Trailer Wanders On To The Web
Rudd and Hirsch bond on the road

The first teaser for David Gordon Green’s return to smaller-scale indie filmmaking, Prince Avalanche, arrived back in April. Now comes a new, longer trailer that reveals more of the mismatched buddy comedy between Paul Rudd and Emile Hirsch. You can track it down over at Apple

Rudd is Alvin, a stern, thoughtful type in the summer of 1988. He’s taken a job repainting road markings in a picturesque chunk of Texas that has been torched by a raging wildfire.

Working with him is Lance (Hirsch), his girlfriend’s brother. Initially, the pair seems too different to get along: Alvin is happy in glorious isolation, planning to enjoy all that nature has to offer while contemplating his relationship with his other half, while Lance is bored and unfulfilled, missing city life. It doesn’t help that while Alvin has a high opinion of himself, Lance considers him a preening loser. But they do eventually start to bond down the road.

With Green remaking Icelandic comedy Either Way (and apparently planning re-mixed versions swapped between him and the Either Way team), Prince Avalanche arrives in the US on August 9. There’s still no official word on a UK date yet.
