Bioshock's Ken Levine To Script Logan's Run Reboot
Did someone order a futuristic distopia?

Though he has history writing scripts for both TV and film, Ken Levine is best known for his work as creative director and co-founder of Irrational Games, the team behind the critically-acclaimed Bioshock gaming franchise. And though he's now a gamer through and through, that's not stopping him from adapting the remake of one of his favourite films, Logan's Run.

The 1976 Michael Anderson-directed, Michael York-starring distopian sci-fi has a room in many people's hearts, including Levine's, who cites the film and the book it was based on - William F. Nolan and George Clayton Johnson's novel of the same name - as immensely influential, and whose long shadows can be cleary seen in all three of the Bioshock games.

Warner Bros. is the studio who have been trying to reboot the sci-fight-or-flight tale, turning to Levine after numerous other scriptwriters have tried and failed. Directors who've considered taken on the project so far include Bryan Singer - currently on X-Men: Days Of Future Past duty - and Nicolas Winding Refn, who was planning on having his Drive and Only God Forgives star in the lead role of Logan 5 before it all fell apart.

There's no doubt Levine can write a script, and considering he recently revealed why he put the kibosh on any Bioshock movie plans, it's clear he's a man of taste, so fingers crossed this time around Warner Bros. can make it happen and do both the original novel and classic '70s movie justice.

Your Comments

Interesting, he's a talented writer and it good to to see that movie studios are appreciating the quality of writing that can be seen in games. Although he wasn't involved in Bioshock 2 More
