New Trailer For Only God Forgives
Ryan Gosling's ready to rumble

Boasting the sort of mother-son relationship that would have even Norman Bates steering clear, Nicolas Winding Refn’s Only God Forgives premiered in Cannes to mixed responses and divisive reviews. Now the new theatrical trailer is online courtesy of Yahoo.

Only God Forgives finds Ryan Gosling as Julian, a quiet criminal in Bangkok who carries out dirty deeds for his mother Crystal (Kristin Scott Thomas). When his brother is slain by a crime lord, Crystal dispatches Julian to hunt the man down and bring her his head.

But it won’t be that easy. Tracking down The Angel of Vengeance is one thing; defeating him will be quite another. Julian has plans for his entire organisation that involves a little (or a lot) of the old ultraviolence.

Looking to blend the urban bloodiness of Drive with a visceral trawl through Bangkok’s criminal underworld, Only God Forgives won’t be for the faint of heart. It’ll arrive on our screens on August 2. For more on the movie, check out our Podcast from Cannes where we talk to Refn and Thomas.

Need to see this again
I saw this in Paris the other day, and while many aspects of it are very impressive, a lot of it left me in two minds. More
