Milla Jovovich In Talks For Expendables 3
Cage, Chan and Snipes all still being approached

Resident Evil: Retribution

While in Cannes this year, we had the opportunity to talk to Jackie Chan and to ask him about the chances that he'll turn up in The Expendables 3. While excited by the idea, he was a little non-committal on the subject, but is now, according to The Wrap, in “advanced negotiations” alongside Nicolas Cage, Wesley Snipes and Milla Jovovich.

This is the first time that Jovovich’s name has cropped up in connection with the movie, though Sly has said that he was looking to add more of a female dynamic to the third outing. She certainly brings enough arse-kicking credentials from her work on the Resident Evil franchise, her kung-fu in The Three Musketeers (which still makes no sense to us) and, of course, playing the supreme being in The Fifth Element.

As for Chan, Cage and Snipes, they’ve all been talked about for ages, but never really seemed to be in contention. Perhaps we will finally get to see them all share the screen. A bigger question is can they finally make an Expendables movie that actually lives up to the fun premise?

Red Hill director Patrick Hughes is the man charged with carrying out that particular brief, with a start date pencilled in for August. Watch this space for more news.

C'mon get Cage in!
If you're wanting a female presence in number 3 then there are so many better people to choose from than Milla Jovivich. Though I for one am glad Cage's name is still being thrown around, Id love him to be a villain in the same breed as Castor Troy... More

Sad face
I like Milla but she's a supermodel. Can't we have a proper female badass like Michelle Yeoh, Gina Carano or - to continue the old school theme this series started out with - Cynthia Rothrock? And PLEASE no Nicolas Cage. I'd love to see Carl Weathers. More
