Josh Brolin Has Inherent Vice
On for Paul Thomas Anderson's latest

No Country for Old Men

Because his name carries such weight with actors these days, it should be no surprise to anyone that Paul Thomas Anderson is building a fantastic cast for his latest film, Inherent Vice. Josh Brolin is the latest person to jump aboard.

Anderson has been busy building the roster for his long gestating take on Thomas Pynchon’s skewed detective novel, and already has Joaquin Phoenix, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson, Martin Short and Jena Malone firmly in place.

Now Brolin is set to star alongside Phoenix in the tale of stoner private eye Larry "Doc" Sportello as he tries to a former lover with an intriguing and ever-so-complicated, shaggy-dog-story of a case involving infidelity, mental institutions and policemen called "Bigfoot".

Brolin isn’t the only award-winner being touted in connection with the movie, as Sean Penn is also considering signing on.

Brolin was last seen in Gangster Squad and has an eclectic line-up headed to cinemas with Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, the remake of Oldboy and Jason Reitman’s Labor Day. Vice, meanwhile, should shoot this summer.

RE: Josh Brolin Has Inherent Vice
I am utterly excited for Josh Brolin to join this already incredible cast, of course headed by the insanely talented P.T. Anderson. He will bring an edge to join Joaquin and Benicio. Such a great era and story to truly give us a break from the norm and travel back to the land of love. Very excited for this film! More
