Full Cast Shot For Lars Von Trier's Nymphomaniac
Lars and co carry on (but not in Cannes)

Though it could be the sleaziest photoshoot for BBC drama ever, the picture lurking below is actually the first full cast shot of Lars von Trier’s new controversy-baiter Nymphomaniac.

He might not be maddening the Cannes officials this year with his outspoken presence, but that doesn’t stop Von Trier from grabbing headlines and eyeballs with his work.

Chronicling the erotic journey of self-diagnosed nymphomaniac Joe (Charlotte Gainsbourg) from birth until the age of 50, the movie will jump around in time and cover a variety of characters. If you peer at the larger version of the picure (you can see it enlarged further on the film’s site) you’ll see von Trier with a camera (and tape over his mouth - probably wise), Stacy Martin, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Uma Thurman, Udo Kier, Sophie Kennedy Clark, Willem Dafoe, Stellan Skarsgard, Mia Goth, Christian Slater, Gainsbourg, Nicolas Bros and Connie Nielsen. Keep an eye out for some distinctly Carry On-style visual clowning, including suggestive fruit and ice cream cones.

According to producer Peter Aalbæk, the film’s visual effects mean part one (of two) will have to slog through a lengthy post-production process before hitting screens in Denmark on Christmas Day. You lucky Danes; you get a filthy stocking from Lars! Everyone else will have to wait until some time in 2014.
