Cannes 2013: Poster Gallery Round 1
We didn't start the fire...

Cannes is here! And that must mean something else is also here: Empire's Cannes posters round-up! Exclamation marks all round! Here is the initial volley of posters stuck up around the Croisette.

Team Empire may be busy watching films, talking about films and asking filmmakers about films down in the south of France, but we're also creating videblogisodes and, as you'd expect, there'll be a video-based poster round-up in one of the episodes too. Once the rain has stopped, anyway.

As for the posters, we are sad to report that there aren't many out this year, with Disney/Pixar's Monsters University arguably doing the best work with its 'lifesize' versions of Sully and Mike. Note the new artwork in the background too, which we're bound to see online one of these days. An honourable mention in Empire's unofficial Palme D'One-Sheet goes to The Hunger Games: Catching Fire for the flaming motion poster, as well as a translation for pretty much every language imaginable.

For everything you need to know about Cannes, be sure to bookmark Empire's Cannes microsite - find that over here - and look forward to some special Cannes-flavoured podcasts over the next two weeks.
