Kathleen Kennedy On For Star Wars Europe
Producer to head up July's celebration

Kathleen Kennedy

No Star Wars celebration would be complete without an appearance from the boss. Not Vader - although him too - but Kathleen Kennedy, head honcho of the newly revitalised franchise and president of Lucasfilm. Sure enough, Disney have confirmed that she will be in attendance when Star Wars Celebration Europe kicks off in Germany in July.

The shindig, which kicks off in Essen on July 26 and takes in three days of Jedi knights, wampas and Sy Snootles, will see Kennedy joined on the main stage by Warwick Davis to talk about her career to date and her plans for Star Wars. Don't expect big plot points and spoilers from Episode VII; do expect fascinating insights into the inner workings of the new-look Lucasfilm and tales from a career that's run from E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial from Lincoln.

“When I joined Lucasfilm, I immediately saw the true passion shared by Star Wars fans around the world," says Kennedy. "I’m thrilled to attend my first Star Wars Celebration and see in person that energy that makes the Star Wars experience so special.”

No Surprise. I never got excited when I heard JJ Abrams is directing. He will make a decent movie at the end and it will surely be better than the Prequels but nothing special. When did he make a truly special movie in the past? More

Warwick Davis? Could they not find anyone more vague? The guy would go to the opening of a crisp packet if it meant getting paid. More

This looks fun
But I'm afraid after seeing Star Trek into Darkness I don't hold out much hope for 'Star' based franchise's, except maybe JJ Abram's star on the Hollywood walk of shame... More
