Star Trek Into Darkness Clip Goes Viral
Cumberbatch is not a happy bunny

Anything Man Of Steel's Zod can do, Star Trek Into Darkness' John Harrison can do better. Or, rather, can also do - we're not going to make up your minds for you. Take a look at Benedict Cumberbatch's intimidating viral clip below (courtesy of Yahoo!) and let us know: who's more threatening, Michael Shannon or a very angry Sherlock?

If there's one thing that Benedict Cumberbatch does well - and there are many things that Benedict Cumberbatch can do well, notably turning a cinema's worth of women into quivering wrecks with a flick of his eyebrow - it's use his voice for threatening purposes. Harrison is not a man to get on the bad side of, especially now we know what a massive ship he has (steady now...).

With Zoe Saldana, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, Anton Yelchin, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood and Peter Weller all reporting for duty, Star Trek Into Darkness lands here on May 9. Fancy reading a fun interview with Trek creature maestro Neville Page? Or this gem with Benedict Cumberbatch and Alice Eve? You know where to click...

I have been so impressed with all the trailers and clips from Into Darkness, but think this clip is really weak, to have him talk over previously seen clips from the film makes it feel very contrived. I loved Zod's viral as it felt real and therefore more intimidating, they should have gone for a similar thing with this. More

I think Cumberbatch comes across really hammy, and Alice Eve just totally unconvincing. The scream make me cringe everytime I see it. More

I was excited about iron man 3 and star trek 2 until I saw the third man of steel trailer! Enough said. More

Nah, the Zod viral...
was way better. Much more threatening and in step with the MoS narrative. This played like an Eastenders or Corrie big event trailer with the inner monologue/breaking the fourth wall thing. Again, the Zod viral was more inventive and inclusive for the audience. More

Shannon looks like a cartoon character. Not even remotely intimidating. More

I know, right?! It's almost like they didn't wanna give away significant plot details in the trailer for the film they want us to see. WEIRD. More

Is it just me...
...or has all the dialogue shown for the film thus far just sound like really portentious bollocks? I mean, what does Cumberpatch actually say in this clip? Something about being born into battle, the heart of the Enterprise, being an heir to legend, curses... So far, it just sounds like the screenwriters have just been throwing together hammy dramatic speeches without actually trying to get it to sound like something any reasonable person would say. More
