New Greetings From Tim Buckley Trailer
Sing hallelujah!

Scion of a folk music icon, Jeff Buckley followed his dad Tim's path to musical success until his death aged only 30. Rather than dwelling on the tragedy, Greetings From Tim Buckley majors on the lead-up to an episode in his life that linked him umbilically to his old man: a spine-chilling performance of Tim's songs at a 1991 tribute gig in New York.

The film's new trailer (below) shows former Gossip boy Penn Badgley strap on the guitar to play Jeff. It's a seemingly gentle stroll along the hearthrob spectrum that must have tested his musical nous to its limits. Ben Rosenfield appears in flashback as Tim Buckley.

Those other familiar faces you might have spotted are Imogen Poots and William 'Col. Stuart' Sadler, who also appear in the drama.

Greetings From Tim Buckley plays at Robert De Niro's Tribeca Film Festival later this month. Mr De Niro would like you to make the trip but if you can't, he's kindly organised for it to be available via video on demand and Virgin Media. There's no UK release date yet, but it should be in our cinemas later this year. In the meantime, download Buckley Jr.'s album Grace without delay. Trust us.

Was originally unsure about...
a gossip girl guy (see how I made that work?!) being cast as Jeff. Grace is one of those albums that I get lost in for about a week at least once a year. It's looking like a nice tribute though. More
