High-Res Star Trek Into Darkness Stills
And now a new Cumberbatch poster!

empire jj abrams issue star trek into darkness fold out cover

This month's issue of Empire is a J.J. Abrams spectacular, and so features plenty of Star Trek Into Darkness goodness, including our fold-out three-sheet front cover, exclusive on-set access and many, many stills - stills you can now check out online to whet your Trekkie appetite.

A few things to note: Spock looks a little like Dr. Manhattan/any number of Prometheus cast members in that space suit; Bones seems to be giving Harrison his number and that MC-3921 thingummy is very intriguing indeed. Do you have any of your own guesstimations to make? Let us know in the comment box below.

Meanwhile, Paramount has released a new poster for the film, showcasing Benedict Cumberbatch's sinister John Harrison in determined, forward-marching form. Cumberbitches may delight at how cool he looks, but the rest of us will be making a swift run for a safer location.

Also, check out our Star Trek Into Darkness trailer breakdown here for lots more extra detail...

Featuring Chris Pine's Captain Kirk to Zachary Quinto's Spock, as well as newbies Alice Eve as Carol Marcus and Cumberbatch's mysterious and most likely fairly evil John Harrison on the front cover, Empire's J.J. Abrams' special issue is on newsagents' shelves right now. If you have an iPad subscription, you won't even have leave the house.

RE: High-Res Star Trek Into Darkness Stills
I'm convinced this is an entirely unique story (as the 2009 Star Trek was), and not based on the old 1960s show. Totally new timeline remember? More

I've convinced myself now that he is not Khan and that the movie is based on the Where No Man Has Gone Before episode. More

Chekov in red??
Don't remember Chekov in a red uniform in the TV series. Is this JJ's way of explaining why Chekov wasn't on the Bridge when Khan was on board??? More
