Reynolds Not Keen On Justice League
The Green Lantern ain't too excited

How do you solve a problem like Justice LeagueWe've tried our best to solve the tricky conundrum of bringing DC Comics' finest to the big screen, and came up with inconclusive results. What's worse, the Green Lantern himself, Ryan Reynolds, has arrived at a similar position, even saying, "At this point I have very little interest in joining that kind of world."

Reynolds was talking to Empire about the current state of the Justice League project during a podcast interview that also touched on Deadpool: The Movie, masturbating during screenings of The Mission and, as they say, a whole lot more.

You can check out the podcast in full below - his interview starts at 48.50 or so - and after that read what he said in text form.

"If you're going to do comic book movies in that vein, you really have to get them right," says Reynolds. "I believe that Joss Whedon is the guy that just nails it and Christopher Nolan obviously nails it. So if they were gonna do it like that, it would be an interesting thing to do."

"It's just that... working on Green Lantern, I saw how difficult it is to make that concept palatable, and how confused it all can be when you don't really know exactly where you're going with it or you don't really know how to access that world properly - that world comic book fans have been accessing for decades and falling in love with," he adds. "So at this point I have very little interest in joining that kind of world. But, you know, a great script and a good director can always turn that around."

It's an age-old get out clause, the a-good-script-and-a-good-director-would-get-me-interested number, but it's clear that Mr. Reynolds isn't champing at the bit for another chance to put on the ring of rings (leaving The One Ring to one side for a moment). Gangster Squad's Will Beall - who was tasked with crafting a Justice League script - better come up with the goods to attract a big-name director, because at the moment one of the League's players doesn't want to be part of the game...

Justice League is earmarked for a 2015 release, but as with a lot of League-related things, this is up in the air awaiting the (hopeful) success of Zack Snyder's Man Of Steel (which is out on June 14).
