First Images From Percy Jackson 2
Logan Lerman gets kraken again

22 March 2013  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: USA Today

It all went a bit quiet for Percy Jackson following the release of The Lightning Thief in 2010. The adaptation of the first in Rick Riordan's young adult series didn't quite break even during its US run, but its performance overseas persuaded Fox to move ahead with a sequel nonetheless. Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters is the result, once again starring Logan Lerman and co., and the first few stills have just arrived online.

Thor Freudenthal (Diary Of A Wimpy Kid) is the director this time, with Chris Columbus taking a back seat as producer along with Twilight's Karen Rosenfelt. Sea Of Monsters, logically based on the second of Rick Riordan's series of Percy Jackson novels, has been adapted by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski (Agent Cody Banks1408), and sees Percy (Logan Lerman) and Annabeth (Alexandra Daddario) on an Argonaut-ical quest to find the Golden Fleece and rescue Grover (Brandon T. Jackson).

Stanley Tucci (Dionysus), Nathan Fillion (Hermes) and Anthony Head (replacing Pierce Brosnan as Chiron) are providing some of the adult support. Look at Tucci's beard. Look at his beard! The Sea Of Monsters crashes onto UK shores on August 14. We're told to expect a trailer next week.
