Because we know you just can’t get enough of Tony Stark and Iron Man 3, a short new clip from the film – or, more specifically, from a teaser trailer for footage to be shown at this year’s Nickelodeon Kid’s Choice Awards at the weekend – has arrived online.

In it, Robert Downey Jr’s billionaire playboy philanthropist takes a moment to introduce himself to the three people reading this who have no idea who he is. That happens in voice-over across an extended look at his new, presumably Extremis-powered armour in action as it zips across the lab and latches on to his body. We’re betting that chafes occasionally.

Stark will need the upgrades, especially since The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) is looking to destroy everything he loves and Tony’s worried about Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Plus then there’s the small matter of James “Rhodey” Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and his patriotic take on the armour.

With Shane Black and Drew Pearce co-writing, Iron Man 3 definitely promises a more dramatic take on the character, albeit laced with the sardonic humour we’ve come to know and love.
