Following the "announcement video" released at Christmas and the teaser that swiftly followed it, here's a spanking new international trailer for Star Trek Into Darkness. It's got more Kirk, more Cumberbatch, more shooting, more explosions, more fire... more everything! It's even got Alice Eve in her underwear.
So then: the edited highlights. There's a better look at those vengeful Cumberbatch attacks on Earth; quite a lot of Peter Weller, apparently taking a commanding role in Starfleet (not his first brush with the Trek, incidentally: he was in a couple of episodes of Enterprise); Kirk, Spock and the gang piloting something that isn't the Enterprise; gratuitous Alice Eve hotness (did we mention that already?); and a starship crash through the Earth's atmosphere. Did someone leave Deanna Troi in charge again?
We still, natch, haven't learned anything about Cumberbatch's character, but there are a couple of tantalising clues. Nobody addresses him by the widely disseminated name of John Harrison (although he's definitely called that onscreen), but we're told by Weller that the man responsible for the attacks on the Federation is "one of our top agents". And Cumberbatch's own assertion, "I am better at everything", is only more fuel for the theory that we might eventually learn that he's been eugenically enhanced...
Update: a new poster has arrived for Star Trek Into Darkness, hidden via a link in the trailer. We've grabbed it for you and placed it below so you don't have to get your microscopes out or anything. And if you'd like to deconstruct the trailer in a little more detail, check out our trailer breakdown here.
Star Trek Into Darkness, we don't need to tell you, is directed by J.J. Abrams, and written by Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Damon Lindelof. Aside from Cumberbatch and Weller, it of course stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho. And Alice Eve. In her underwear. It's out in the UK on May 10.

What with this & GI Joe 2 has London now become the new New York?
on't forget the Total recall remake! Second thoughts, do your best to forget the Total recall remake, get a memory implant or something. Mine should kick in soon, although, I can't remember why I had it done now... What was I talking about?
Anyway, great trailer! Looks like Star Trek could join the billion dollar revenue club, I think this is going to be awesome! Pity JJ won't be about for the More

Into A Bikini
'star trek into darkness' aka 'the film with the blonde in the bikini'
gene would have approved. More
This trailer really shows the ruthless nature of John Harrison. During the wait to find out his motives, I have been watching all Star Trek films with Blockbuster @Home from DISH. I am always busy with my work shift at DISH, so I love that I still get the chance to relax with a movie at the end of the day. My movies are delivered so quickly in the mail, and watching the films again has made it apparent that this is one of the toughest villains to date. More

I'm still saying he's going to be Khan.
They've said his name is John Harrison, but not one single person in the trailer has said his name, even though Starfleet Command know who he is.
That, to me, screams that the name is a red-herring. More

Duuuuuuuuuuuudddeeee
just when you think it couldn't get any more epic. J.J. releases another brilliant trailer that just completely whets the appetite for a badass villain like Cumberbatch. I honestly think it's basically a bad ass killer version of Sherlock from the BBC series people!! :D More
