Greg Kinnear Joins Anchorman 2

Greg Kinnear, Josh Lawsom

Breaking news from the Channel 4 team! Or whatever station Ron Burgundy and his motely crew are associated with in Anchorman: The Legend Continues. Director Adam McKay has added two more cast members to the film currently shooting in Atlanta as Greg Kinnear and Josh Lawson are aboard.

Deadline’s report doesn’t mention what they’ll be playing, though we could see Kinnear as a fellow news type.

Both men have solid comedy form, though Kinnear is probably better known to everyone from work such as Baby Mama, Little Miss Sunshine, Stuck On You and Mystery Men. Yeah, we brought up Mystery Men. What of it? He’s funny in it.

Australian actor, writer and comedian Lawson worked with Ron himself, Will Ferrell in last year’s The Candidate. He’s also been bringing bumbling laughs to US cable comedy drama House Of Lies and was seen in indie comedy Freeloaders.

They’re joining a cast that already includes returning Anchor-folk Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, David Koechner and Christina Applegate plus new arrivals Harrison Ford, Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker and Meagan Good. Oh, and John C. Reilly, unless his involvement is a big lie.

Anchorman: The Legend Continues hits our screens with the force of a trident thrown by an idiot on December 20.

The other thing is that Josh Lawson regularly appeared on the Australian version of Thank God You're Here and was one of the more popular guests, so he can do comedy. More

'The Candidate'
I think you meant The Campaign. They should get Bryan Cranston on this film so he can stretch his comedy chops once again. Been watching lots of Malcolm In The Middle recently and he's got the perfect energy for something like Anchorman! More
