Days Of Future Past Adds Fan Bingbing
And Daniel Cudmore is back as Colossus

15 March 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Bryan Singer

Fan Bingbing, Daniel Cudmore

Yet more X-Men: Days Of Future Past casting news today, as Bryan Singer has once more hit his Twitter feed to make an announcement. This time, it took the form of a picture of the casting wall (above), which shows that Chinese actress Fan Bingbing will likely be Blink in the franchise, and X2/X-Men: The Last Stand’s Daniel Cudmore will be back as Colossus. There’s also Cudmore’s fellow Twilight veteran Booboo Stewart, though no guesses have been made as to his role yet.

Bingbing is almost certainly a nod to the growing power of the Asian box office market, as she’s a big star across China and Hong Kong. Blink – assuming Bingbing is playing her – was an ill-fated character with pupil-free eyes and Nightcrawler-style powers of teleportation.

They join a line-up that is already crowded with returning faces from the X-Men franchise and a few new arrivals. Back for more are Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Anna Paquin, Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Shawn Ashmore, Ellen Page plus First Class team James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, with newcomers Peter Dinklage and Omar Sy.

Given how many people will be in this thing, you do start to wonder how the storyline – adapted from the 1981 Uncanny X-Men plot arc – will have time to fit them all in. Still, Singer intends to "blow sh**t up," so we’ll happily toddle along on July 18 next year to find out...

What but Booboo's ok because he/she's not foreign? I was just having a laugh - you know - that thing called a sense of humour? It's idiots like you, the aptly named Histeria, who see racism or other prejudices where they aren't, or weren't intended, that suck the joy out of life. More
