Cruise plays Jack Harper, one of the last few drone repairmen actually stationed on Earth. Our world has become a nearly uninhabitable wasteland after a long war with a terrifying alien race known as the Scavs, and now most of humanity lives on floating colonies in the clouds. It’s the job of the drones to take out any remaining Scavs.

Jack – who works with communications officer Victoria (Andrea Riseborough) – is nearing the end of his mission, but then a spacecraft and survival pods crash down, and his world is shaken to the core when he meets a mysterious woman (Olga Kurylenko). Soon everything he knows is seemingly wrong and he may be working for the wrong people. The fate of humanity is in his hands, and you know how time-consuming that can be…
