Fisher Says She's In New Star Wars
Looks like Leia will be back

06 March 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Palm Beach Illustrated (Vila Collider)

Star Wars

Though no official pronouncements have been made and deals are apparently still being hammered out in the Mos Eisley Cantina, it's looking ever more likely that Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and now Carrie Fisher will return to their iconic Star Wars roles. Fisher is the latest to comment, appearing to confirm that she’ll be back as Leia.

Of course, Star Wars fans have been in this asteroid field before, and while she's said she'd be happy to return, the last time Fisher made such statements her representatives were quick to retract them and dismiss it as the star being flippant and funny.

But, talking to that always-reliable source of movie information the, er, Palm Beach Illustrated, she was once more asked point blank if she was coming back for more Wars and answered in the affirmative.

So how will she appear? “Elderly,” laughs Fisher. “She’s in an intergalactic old folks’ home. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle.”

If – and it’s still if until that big announcement comes from Disney, Lucasfilm and Bad Robot – she is back, we hope writer Michael Arndt gives her the ol’ sharp tongue we’ve come to know and love about Leia and the woman who plays her. After all, what’s Star Wars without her slinging insults? A scruffy-lookin' nerfherder, that's what.

Original cast all the way.
To anyone who says the original characters or cast should not return ... talk about missing the point of the original trilogy! People first, hardware second. More

Well...
I'm not quite sure how I feel about this, but I guess it could be cool if done right. She was wonderfully feisty in the OT after all. More

Yes!
Funny thing is, I said it wouldn't be proper if they don't return, in a thread a while back and got slated for it! So I'm glad SOME of us are happy that this MAY happen! This could be the film(s) that we so richly deserve. P.S. ROTS wasn't half bad let's be honest! :-) More

RE: This. Is. AWESOME!!!
She had to be in the film. I loved the original three movies and tollerated the rest. This time It has to be better and to hear she has signed to be in the film just endorses that fact. Can't wait More

This. Is. AWESOME!!!
...if true. But whether or not she'll be in the movie, Star Wars VII will be miles better than those godawful "new trilogy" movies. More
