Noomi Rapace On Prometheus 2
'There are a lot of things to explore'

27 February 2013  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen  |  Source: The Playlist

Prometheus

Talking to the nice people at The Playlist can loosen the most secretive tongue as Noomi Rapace discovered when she talked to them about developments on Prometheus 2. A script is underway, she explained, although she didn't give any clue as to who is writing it.

"They're working on the script," said Rapace. "I met Ridley in London a couple of weeks ago. I would love to work with him again and I know that he would like to do another one. It's just like we need to find the right story. I hope we will."

The actress added: "It's interesting because most people I've talked to who've seen the movie, see things that are quite different. Some people who see the movie many times and discover new things. There are all these religious aspects and there are very interesting conversations. And for me, if we do a second one, there are a lot of things to explore in there and to continue."

As first draft-er Jon Spaihts told us at the end of 2012, there were plenty of big ideas and Alien riffs that didn't make it into the first movie. With a new writer onboard for Prometheus 2, there's scope for making more of a beeline for the world of Alien and Aliens, facehuggers and all.

What would you like to see in Prometheus' sequel?
A freakin' alien already. A proper one.
Fassbender getting his head sewn back on.
Someone running <i>sideways</i> to escape something rolling straight at them.
A musical number, in the tradition of Spaceballs.

Great news!
I really enjoyed Prometheus, thought it was an intelligent and thought provoking piece of sci-fi that was quite refreshing in it's approach as it wasn't just another Alien movie. Can't wait where Sir Ridley will take us on the sequel! More

Now the dust has settled on Prometheus, it's hard not to think that the script was at least two or three rewrites away from being ready and it got rushed into production. There were plot holes the size of Titanic in it and other things that just did not make sense. If there was a mother of a twist in the sequel explaining everything, that could be awesome but I'm not holding out much hope for it after the messy first one. More

GREAT!
Yes - I found Prometheus intriguing, and really enjoyed it. I really want to see where this is going and not keen on waiting another 3 years to find out! Looking forward to it!! More

RE: Good News
I'm glad I'm not alone in thinking this is good news. I didn't love Prometheus, but I didn't hate it, and I think there's great scope for what could fill in the gap between Prometheus and Alien. I'm intrigued to see what Ridley Scott has planned for us. More
