Exclusive Prehistoric Fails Croods Clip
Cavemen aren't clever – who knew?

20 February 2013  |  Written by Ali Plumb  |  Source: Exclusive

The Croods is DreamWorks Animations' latest family-friendly comedy adventure, telling the tale of a family of cavemen forced to up sticks - literally - when an earthquake destroys their home. This exclusive Croods clip isn't about that, however: it's about prehistoric fails.

Starring the dopey but loveable Thunk (Clark Duke) and his hapless cavedog, it reveals that even way back in the internet-less land before time there was still plenty of failing going on. Check it out for yourself here, then cast your eyes at the full-length trailer at the bottom of this news story.

The Croods also stars Nicolas Cage (as the father of the Crood brood, Grug), Ryan Reynolds (as the nomadic caveboy Guy), Emma Stone (as Grug's adventurous daughter Eep) and Catherine Keener (as Ugga, Grug's put-upon wife).

Interestingly, The Croods project was originally part of Aardman's now-cancelled Dreamworks deal, with some of the original scripts - then called Crood Awakening - drafted by one Mr. John Cleese.

This version, however, is a DreamWorks-only production, with Space Chimps' KIrk DeMicco and How To Train Your Dragon's Chris Sanders sharing directing duties. Expect The Croods to ugg their way into cinemas on March 22.
