It may sound like a Calvin Klein eau de toilette, but Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion is a Tom-Cruise-in-orbit epic that smells of nothing more than sweaty spacesuits, grime and the heady whiff of Asimov-inspired science fiction. The movie has a new trailer and you can watch right here, right now.
Cruise's first sci-fi foray since War Of The Worlds pitches him onto a blasted Earth, both scarred by a conflict with an alien power. As a worker called Jack Harper, he's tasked with a monotonous maintenance job repairing broken drones on the blasted landscape.
Since everything he knows, or thinks he knows, has been passed down from faceless powers at the other end of a remote receiver, he takes his role - and life - on trust. But who can he trust? Judging by this trailer, absolutely nobody; although Olga Kurylenko's mysterious beauty - a flashback from a distant past - is shaping up to play Eve to Cruise's Wall-E as things rapidly fall apart.
Thinky and thunderous, there's plenty to get your teeth into here. There's also a freshness to Kosinski's pod designs that makes us hope they'll come out in nano and shuffle.
really impressive trailer..cruise seems to have picked another cracking sci fi flick(after minority report, not war of the worlds)looking forward to this along with after earth, elysium, gravity and enders game! More

I think it looks pretty good. Second film in a row in which Cruise plays someone called Jack. Coincidence?
Yes, of course it is, don't be daft.
o it isn't. It's the second part of Cruise's "Jack -er" trilogy. More
