Brooks Swims Back For Finding Nemo 2
Marlin will return

Finding Nemo

With the news last year that Andrew Stanton planned to salve his John Carter wounds with a dip back into Finding Nemo’s ocean, it was all but inevitable that the main voice cast would start to return. Stanton landed Ellen DeGeneres fairly swiftly, but today brings word that Albert Brooks has signed on to play Marlin again.

According to Deadline, the negotiations for Brooks took a while, likely thanks to his resurgent career on the back of the likes of Drive and This Is 40.

Nothing is yet known about the Nemo sequel, though we’d expect Marlin and Dory to head out on another aquatic adventure. That said, given that Pixar’s most recent sequel, Monsters University, looks at another part of the main characters’ timeline, there’s a chance we could see a different tail. Sorry, tale.

With Victoria Strouse writing the script (with, of course input from Stanton and Pixar’s Brain Trust/story department mavens), Finding Nemo 2 (or whatever it ends up being called) may hit screens in 2016.

Brooks doesn’t have other acting or even film writing/directing jobs on the schedule right now: he’s mostly busy scribbling his next novel to follow futuristic comedy bestseller 2030.

Stand up for Carter
Stanton did a great job on Carter, easily one of the best entertainments of last year and surprisingly faithful to the books. But then Empire, along with most other publications seemed to get off on perpetuating the notion that Carter was a failure. I seem to remember your original review of Star Wars episode one was pretty good. News Flash: IT WAS COMPLETE CRAP! carter should have been one of the biggest hits of last year. Rant over. More

it's a shame
what is it with all these sequels??? Please come back Mr Lasseter and save Pixar from itself. Dreamworks is now the animation studio to beat and who would have said that a few years ago? More
