Oz The Great & Powerful Superbowl Spot
The land you know... the story you don't

03 February 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Disney

The stream of Super Bowl movie ads continues apace! This time it’s the turn of Disney rolling out the latest tease for Sam Raimi’s Oz The Great And Powerful. Check it out below.

You’ll likely know the setup by now, but just in case, we’re introduced to the troubled backstory of the Wizard, who starts life as small-time circus magician/huckster named Oscar Diggs (James Franco). When he has to go on the run, his balloon is caught in a tornado and hurled away from Kansas to the magical Land of Oz.

Thinking he might finally have found a place to win fame and fortune, Oscar stumbles into a tricky situation involving three witches - Evanora (Rachel Weisz), Theodora (Mila Kunis) and Glinda (Michelle Williams). Can he help save Oz and his own life? He’ll need to draw on all of his charm and skills to manage it…

It appears the Mouse House really does want to keep the secret of which witch becomes the evil Wicked Witch Of The West, and most of the footage here is culled from what we’ve seen already. Still, there are a few fresh snippets, so give it a watch.

Zach Braff (playing two roles), Abigail Spencer, Joe King and Martin Klebba also feature in the film, which charms its way on to our screens on March 8.
