Iron Man 3 Superbowl Spot Lands
Stark times for Tony

03 February 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Disney/Facebook

Last year, The Avengers blasted his competitors with a big Super Bowl spot and, while Robert Downey Jr’s tony Stark has more competition from the Star Trek team and the Fast & Furious gearheads, the Iron Man 3 ad certainly doesn’t disappoint. Take a gander...

With Tony under real threat in a post-Avengers world, the Iron Man 3 trailers so far have all played up the edge and the danger. That’s a theme that continues here, with some shots we’ve seen, a few new flashes (Guy Pearce!) and a longer moment from a scene in which Iron Man saves some passengers falling from Air Force One after it gets attacked. But, according to Jarvis, he can’t save them all…

If your excitement levels were already dangerously into the red zone, this could send those needles twitching a little further along. Can the live film up to the anticipation? We’re certainly hoping so.

Disney has now released some high-res stills from the Superbowl footage, and for your convenience we've put them here for you below.

Iron Man 3, directed by Shane Black from a script by Black and Drew Pearce, also features Ben Kingsley, Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale and Jon Favreau. It’ll finally swagger into our cinemas on April 26.

Looking way better than 2
I like the off-beat little intro there, that was funny. More

After 2… the only way surely is up.
The involvement of Black is enough to get me in front of this. Thought 1 was good but after the pretty atrocious 2 I don’t personally have ridiculous expectations for the character.   L: Dannybohy  for the first time I am a little excited about IM3!! :) nbsp; Same here. Spot is pretty decent and the AF One sequence looks great. More
