New Pic Of About Time
Richard Curts' new time-warping comedy

27 January 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Collider

Richard Curtis has been hard at work on his latest romantic comedy, this time with a sci-fi twist. The result is About Time, starring Domhnall Gleeson and Rachel McAdams, and a new picture from the film can be seen above thanks to Collider.

About Time focuses on Tim Lake (Gleeson), who discovers he has an unusual talent: he can travel in time. According to his dad (Bill Nighy), it’s a genetic gift passed down through the men in his family. While he can’t change big historical events, he can alter things within his own life. Naturally, Tim decides to use his powers for good and help humanit… No, of course he doesn’t: he tries to get a girlfriend.

After heading to London to train as a lawyer, Tim meets the lovely but insecure Mary (McAdams), and through they fall in love, an unfortunate time travel accident means they end up not meeting. So he has to try again and again.

He finally succeeds, and after marrying Mary, he keeps using time travel to keep their life on track and help out in various ways, such as getting his pregnant wife to the hospital on time for the birth of their daughter. But he learns that despite his unique gift, time travel can’t solve everything, and that it can also be dangerous…

Assuming there are no chrono-stream-related incidents getting in the way, About Time will hit out screens on September 6.
