Mud Trailer Escapes Online
Matthew McConaughey spins stories

16 January 2013  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo

With Matthew McConaughey enjoyed a career renaissance thanks to some smart choices (The Lincoln Lawyer, Magic Mike), it’s a good time for Jeff Nichols’ follow up to Take Shelter, Mud, to arrive. Check out the trailer above via Yahoo.

Mud finds 14-year-old lads Ellis (Tye Sheridan) and Neckbone (Jacob Lofland) exploring an island in the Mississippi river. They’ve been drawn by talk of a boat left high and dry in a tree after a recent flood and are delighted to discover it.

But someone else has also found it – and soon the boys are tangled up in the life of a man named Mud (McConaughey) who unwinds all sorts of tails about his past, but may in fact be a dangerous fugitive on the run. He claims he just wants a quiet life with the woman he loves, Juniper (Reese Witherspoon), but the pack of bounty hunters and lawmen on his tail point to something quiet different.

Who’s telling the truth here? And what will happen? After screening at Cannes (and getting a positive write-up from Empire’s Damon Wise) Mud is set to arrive across the pond on April 26, and hopefully some time this year over here. There’s another clip from the film available to watch below.
