New Still From The Wolverine
Snikt - in Japan!

14 January 2013  |  Written by Helen O'Hara  |  Source: 20th Century Fox

In our book, every Monday needs brightening up with a little dose of mutant violence - and today's helping comes courtesy of Hugh Jackman and The Wolverine, with a new still from the forthcoming film showing the mutant in fine form.

Of course, by "fine form" we mean shirtless (inevitably), muscly and with veins the size of Twiglets popping from every limb and claws the size of bread knives popping from between every knuckle. We're not sure what's made Wolverine angry here, but we reckon it won't end well for that shōji next to him (that's the technical term for those paper walls, fact fans!).

This film, of course, sees Wolverine travel to Japan, where he faces a clash with the Yashida crime family, on behalf of love interest Mariko (Tao Okamoto). It's based on the classic Frank Miller / Chris Claremont comic run, and also stars Will Yun Lee as the Silver Samurai, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Rila Fukushima, Brian Tee and Svetlana Khodchenkova.

The Wolverine hits cinemas on July 26. Will it be the best there is at what it does? Let's hope so.

Your Comments

At a guess
Wonder if this is a scene re-enacted from the book - when he has just lost his temper and popped his claws having been bested by Shingen at bokken showing himself to be an unworthy gaijin right in front of his lady love/Shingen's daughter Mariko. The bigger question is whether Hugh Jackman will sing in this movie? More

Is there no other pose HJ can do for wolverine? They all look like pictures from the cargo pants' section of the grattan catalogue. I wonder if they have employed new security to look after the workprints for this one too....... More
