New UK Robot & Frank Trailer
'YOU'RE for children, stupid'

09 January 2013  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen

A little indie that can, and at Sundance did, Robot & Frank is a smaller-scale robot sci-fi that will appear amid of forest of blockbuster future flicks and steal all our hearts this year. That's definitely the way it looks from this new UK trailer than will put a broad smile on all but the most recently botoxed faces.

Fittingly, stealing is what Frank (Frank Langella) does in Jake Schreier's comedy-drama. He's a jewel thief out to pasture and a little shaky when it comes to his domestic affairs. His attorney son (James Marsden) delivers a little help in the shape of a Peter Sarsgaard-voiced 'bot. Pretty cool, eh? If it can't be a Smash robot, it may as well be him off Flightplan getting you up in the morning.

Early buzz has Langella as the standout in a wonderfully eccentric odd-couple caper. Look out, too, for Susan Sarandon who plays the alluring librarian who catches his still-twinkling eye.

Robot & Frank is out on March 8.
