Four Minutes Of Warm Bodies Online
Meet Nicholas Hoult's R...

27 December 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Fandango

If the teasers and trailers whetted your appetite for 50/50 director Jonathan Levine’s adaptation of Warm Bodies, then you’ll be happy to hear that a slightly longer chunk of footage – the first four minutes of the movie, in fact – has been thrown on to the Interwebs to sate your hunger to see more. Check it out above, courtesy of Fandango.

We’re introduced via voice-over to the typical experience of R (Nicholas Hoult), a zombie living in a post-apocalyptic world where the dead stumble around and prey on the living. You know, your usual zombie nightmare.

But R is slightly different, as he’s struggling more than the others to maintain some shred of his vanished humanity. We get to see his dreary, groaning existence spent wandering around an airport and occasionally “talking” to his “best friend”, M (Rob Corddry).

Later, of course, R will meet Julie (Teresa Palmer), a young woman who realises he’s not quite like his moaning mates and who inflames a new spark of life in our hero. But the course of true love – when it’s undead boy meets girl – isn’t fated to run smoothly.

This intro features some nicely satirical pokes at our disconnected, tech-obsessed world and also hints that it’ll be happily more tongue in cheek (provided the tongue hasn’t rotted through the cheek) than most undead romances.

With John Malkovich, Analeigh Tipton and Dave Franco also among the cast, Warm Bodies is out on February 8.
