This Is The End For Seth Rogen
Apocalypse comedy gets teaser trailer

21 December 2012  |  Written by Owen Williams  |  Source: Yahoo! Movies

Way back in 2007, Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen made a fake trailer for an end-of-the-world comedy called Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse, and talked about turning it into a full-blown feature. Development was slow-ish, but the cameras finally rolled this year on the re-titled This Is The End, and to prove it here's a Mayan-appropriate teaser trailer. It's probably NSFW, but you've all knocked off already, right?

Jay and Seth, you'll notice are having their apocalypse now with Jonah Hill, James Franco, Danny McBride and Craig Robinson. You'll be treated to a specially-shot intro by Rogen and Franco, followed by the real film footage, in which McBride is found to have cooked the group's entire emergency stockpile at once, which seems to prompt an epic armageddon-y quest to the shops. There's also a crack about Green Hornet, aspersions about Franco's sexual orientation, laughter at Michael Cera's demise, and an impromptu acting class based on Hill's delivery of the line, "Some really messed up stuff happened, and there were a lot of fatalities."

Did you catch that glimpse of the collapsing hole in the ground? Is that a Dark Knight Rises gag? And yes, that was Emma Watson, possibly stepping in for Daniel Radcliffe, who Rogen recently chuckled "wasn't willing to push things as far as we were." Given that Radcliffe's in Alexandre Aja's Horns, that's actually kind of hard to believe.

Elsewhere in the frankly ridonculous cast are Paul Rudd, Jason Segel, Evan Goldberg and Rihanna. Rogen and Goldberg co-directed, and if we're all still here, we'll get to see This Is The End in the UK next June.
