Trailer For Michael Bay's Pain & Gain
It's forearm-ageddon

20 December 2012  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen  |  Source: Michael Bay Dot Com

An intriguing move away from ginormous explosions and into more character-driven filmmaking, Michael Bay's Pain & Gain is shaping up to surprise one or two people. His passion project has a new trailer which offers a blast of Florida sunshine on a wintry day. Watch it below or Bay will blow up your advent calendar.

Looks like a Michael Bay sortie in Soderbergh or even Coens country, right? Sure, he's brought Humvees, SWAT teams and speedboats (baby steps, people), but the comedy beats looks like they're in safe hands with Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and the ever-excellent Tony Shalhoub on board, and we know Bay can shot an action sequence. Sometimes several at once.

The Bad Boys here are a trio of knuckleheaded bodybuilders, Daniel Lugo (Wahlberg), Paul Doyle (Johnson) and Adrian Doorbal (Anthony Mackie), who robbed and extorted their way around southern Florida in the mid-'90s.

Written by Chronicles Of Narnia's Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, Bay's true-life tale charts Florida's 'Sun Gym Gang', a story reported assiduously by  Miami New Times journalist Pete Collins in 1999.

Pain & Gain is out in the UK on May 3, 2013.

READ THE TRUE STORY BEHIND PAIN AND GAIN
If anyone is interested in reading the true story behind the film, Google 'Pain and Gain Miami New Times.' The Sun Gym Gang was a foul group of dirt-bags/scum of the Earth who kidnapped, tortured and left their victim to die. They almost got away with their crimes until private investigator Ed DuBois (portrayed by actor Ed Harris in the film) cracked the case when the Miami-Dade Police Department failed to do so. The movie looks great! Can't wait until it is released. More

Looks Good
Genuinely looks good, but I wonder if it'll all be set at dusk and if he'll shoehorn in a scene set atop a mountain with the camera flying around at 230MPH! More
