Photos: Jack Reacher UK Premiere
Cruise punches winter in the face

11 December 2012  |  Written by Ali Plumb

Tom Cruise at the London premiere of Jack Reacher

Jack Reacher had its UK premiere last night at Odeon Leicester Square, and as you might have guessed, the stars of said film came along too, including Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, David Oyelowo and Robert Duvall.

In the people-who-turned-up-but-weren't-actually-in-the-film department, there was Tom Hardy, wearing a Mad Max: Fury Road top, Andrea Riseborough, Cruise's co-star on Oblivion, and Bill Nighy, who's just an excellent human being.

For those not already in the know, Jack Reacher, adapted from Child’s book One Shot by writer/director Christopher McQuarrie, finds the title character called in when a former military sniper stands accused of killing five people during a shooting spree.

He insists he’s innocent and demands that Reacher investigate. But when Jack peels back the layers of the case, he discovers much more danger that he initially figured, especially from mysterious crime figure 'The Zec', played by Werner Herzog.

Jack Reacher arrives in UK cinemas on December 26, when he’ll make Boxing Day take on a new meaning. Set the clock in your head for it now, but not until you've watched the trailer below.

Your Comments

I was
lucky enough to be at the premiere. Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed the film; an old school film with a decent plot, characters, car chases and punch-ups. Haven't read the books so i'm not a party to the debate about whether Cruise is right for the character or not but treat this is a decent action film with a good story and you won't go far wrong. Looking forward to seeing it again and if it becomes a franchise and retains this sort of quality, i'll be back. Sorry Arnie. More
