Desolation Of Smaug Hobbit Image Lands

A third EW-sourced Hobbit snap has been revealed online following on from the Legolas There And Back Again number, as well as a new look at Barry Humphries' Goblin King and it's all kinds of shiny. Oh, and it's from the second of the three Hobbit films, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug.

Featuring Bilbo the "burglar" on all fours by Smaug's immense pile of gold, it's a great bit of teasing from team Jackson. Is it looking at Smaug at this point? What does Smaug look like? Why is Bilbo wearing that natty blue top? Have they reused any footage from The Goonies to fill out Smaug The Golden's magnificent haul?

Only the cast, crew and Peter Jackson's iPad have the answers. Oh, and people who've seen The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, who will have already seen a couple of snippets of Benedict Cumberbatch's wyrm, the lucky swine.

The Desolation Of Smaug follows on December 13 2013, and then There And Back Again will enter cinemas on 18 July 2014.

Why is Bilbo wearing that natty blue top?
A clue to Bilbos new top is seen in the background image of the new 'Legolas and Bard the bowman' photo from the 3rd film. There is a figure in the background, possibly from Laketown, wearing a very similar garment! So I assume the folks from Laketown gave Bilbo this new coat. More
