Johnny Depp Back With Don Quixote
But for Disney, not Terry Gilliam

Johnny Depp can’t get enough of tilting at windmills. He spent years working with Terry Gilliam to try to get the director’s project The Man Who Killed Don Quixote up and filming, and anyone who has seen Lost In La Mancha knows how that turned out. But while Gilliam has not lost faith in his film, it would seem Depp is branching out with his own Don Quixote project, setting up an untitled project about him at Disney.

Deadline reports that the potential pic is a modern-day re-imagining of the Quixote tale (which means it’ll be different from Gilliam’s film, assuming that ever gets into production).

Steve Pink and Jeff Morris are writing the script, having collaborated before on True Memoirs Of An International Assassin, which Morris scripted and Pink had been set to direct. Though that has yet to see the light of day, they clearly got on and are working together.

As of right now, Depp is listed as a producer, though you’ve got to figure he’s developing this as a starring vehicle. The Mouse House would no doubt be delighted to have another film from their Pirates leading man on top of The Lone Ranger.

We’ll see if this one comes to fruition. But we certainly hope Depp had a word with Gilliam before he set it all up…

RE: What a cunt
L: DancingClown L: Dannybohy I thought Depp was busy helping out convicted child murderers?! I hoped this preoccupation would of at least stopped him making movies for a while h? ttp://wm3truth.com/the-west-memphis-three-were-guilty/ He, along with people like Peter Jackson have for some reason chose to support these convicted killers! decide for yourself if they are batshit crazy, but I would warn that the crime is horrendous and you may wish you never read about it.
