Catching Fire Motion Poster Online
Every revolution begins with a spark

20 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Lionsgate/Facebook

Though news from across the pond is likely to slow to a crawl as America-land gets set to celebrate Thanksgiving, there are still big movies to promote. So raise three fingers in salute to welcome the motion picture for upcoming sequel The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.

Actually, the film is just over a year away from hitting cinemas, but these days it’s never too early to raise awareness. Sure, the follow-up to the wildly successful Hunger Games doesn’t need as much of a push as some, but a nifty, flaming, animated image is a decent place to start and a continuation of the tradition begun by the original.

Catching Fire sees Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) packed off on a Victor’s Tour of the various Districts after winning the previous Games. But the evil President Snow (Donald Sutherland) has a plan, and announces that the next games, part of the Quarter Quell celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Capitol subduing every other area of the shattered future America, will feature the recent winners going up against several veterans. All while the slow-burning revolution against his tyranny moves to the next gas mark…

Francis Lawrence calls the shots on this one, with Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, Toby Jones, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jena Malone, Sam Claflin and Jeffrey Wright all among the cast.

Catching Up With The Hunger Games
Great animation! Looking forward to the film... Hope they put a little bit more true emotion and humor into the film this time, though. The books are filled with little precious moments I'd love to see on the big screen :) More
