Will Ferrell On For Lego Pic
Liam Neeson & Alie Brie also set

10 November 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Deadline

Will Ferrell

The cast of Phil Lord and Chris Miller’s big CG Lego cartoon The Piece Of Resistance continues to swell with big, exciting and, for the most part, funny names. Yet another batch of talent has hopped aboard, with Will Ferrell, Liam Neeson, Alison Brie and Nick Offerman all signing on to voice characters.

Lego’s plot focuses on Emmet (Chris Pratt), who spends his days as a perfectly ordinary Lego minifigure. One day, he’s mistakenly identified as the Master Builder, one of the most powerful people in the blocky world, and recruited to join a fellowship of strangers who want to save it.

See, everything is under threat from evil tyrant President Business (Ferrell) and his powerful henchman Bad Cop (Neeson). Offerman, who stole a scene in Lord and Miller’s 21 Jump Street and continues to be the best thing in Parks & Recreation, is set to play a swaggering pirate driven by revenge against the Prez. Brie, meanwhile, is part of the team helping Emmet, one who hides a big secret (she’s secretly made of K’nex? Probably not.)

They’re joining a cast that already includes Pratt, Elizabeth Banks and the warm, commanding tones of Morgan Freeman. Lord and Miller wrote the script and Warner Bros. has the film aimed at a February 2014 release across the pond.
