New Oz: The Great & Powerful Poster
Watch out for a wicked witch!

31 October 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: Yahoo

It’s been a while since we’ve seen much in the way of publicity for Sam Raimi’s new Wizard Of Oz prequel, Oz The Great And Powerful. But now, with Halloween upon us (at least, it is if you’re reading this on the 31st), the Wicked Witch is here to spook you in a new poster courtesy of Yahoo. Take a look below.

The question raised by the poster, of course is, which of the less-than-friendly witches is on display here? Rachel Weisz’ Evanora or Mila Kunis’ Theodora? Our guess would be Weisz. Apparently this is the first of three posters that will fit together to provide one complete piece.

Oz, as you might expect from the name and the fact that it’s a prequel, introduces us to Oscar Diggs (James Franco) who, before he was acclaimed as the wonderful wizard, was a small-time shyster in a low-rent sideshow, performing cheap tricks. More concerned about scoring with local women than making the magic happen on stage, he gets into hot water and makes good his escape in his hot air balloon.

But before you can say "Auntie Em, it's a twister!" he’s whisked off to the Technicolor spectacle of Oz, which Raimi and his team have been hard at work bringing to life through a combination of digital effects and frankly impressive set work.

This one could be a big event when it lands next year on March 8. Check out the trailer for it below.

I honestly find this very impressive. Cautiously optimistic about the film. More
