New Jack Reacher Trailer Muscles In
'I'm not a hero...'

17 October 2012  |  Written by James White

“He doesn’t care about the law. He doesn’t care about proof. He only cares about what’s right.” It’s a seemingly apt description of Jack Reacher, taken from the new trailer for the film. Take a look at some fresh footage above.

Yes, he may have looked a little Photoshopped in his latest poster, but Tom Cruise (and director Christopher McQuarrie) should win over some of those who remain unconvinced about the megastar’s unsuitability for the role with this latest trailer.

This time around, those unfamiliar with Reacher will learn more about him: his past in the Military Police; his stern, unflinching devotion to finding what’s right; his general lack of connection with the world. Oh, and his ability to go all Liam Neeson on the phone. Villains beware: do not snatch and threaten a woman (in this case Rosamund Pike’s plucky defence attorney) who Reacher has been working with. He will not take it well. And you will definitely come off worse.

There's also more here of Reacher behind the wheel and his ability to mess with the minds of the police.

Robert Duvall, Richard Jenkins, David Oyelowo and the legendary Werner Herzog (who gets some lines here) also feature in the cast. Jack Reacher hits screens in the US on December 21 and here on December 26.

Can't believe anyone thinks this looks even watchable. For a reacher story, there seems to be little actual action in the trailer, which suggests to me this is gonna be a toned down, family friendly action flick. Worse yet Tom Cruise is TERRIBLE as Reacher, not the slightest bit convincing as an utter badass. And the "I'm not a hero line"? Yes, it's factually correct, but Reacher would never say something like that, fuck it, he hardly says anything unless it's necessary. This is go More

Bloody Rubbish
Ok being a fan of the books I'll admit I wasn't entirely impressed with the casting of Tom Cruise. But after seeing the first trailer I got of it,upon seeing the new, trailer I am now convinced that even the Cruiser's draw will not do anything help this pile of s*@t.Why do I react so badly you may think well without spoiling the film, there is a,major plot point revealed in the trailer that is vital to the story which changes the whole agenda of the story. Why do Hollywood insist on dumbing down the More

I <3 JR
Tom Cruise? As Jack Reacher? Have they read the books? All these thoughts went away when I saw the first trailer. TC (I hope) IS Reacher, even if he is about a foot short in all directions. I cannot wait to see this ........... More

Though Tom is No Jack. This movie looks awesome.
Many suggest that Cruise is no Reacher. This trailer proves otherwise. Looks to be an awesome thriller action. More

Reacher
I'll defo watch this as I'm a fan of Cruise, no he's not the person you image when you read the desription of Reacher but he puts everything he has into his roles and I'm looking forward to this immensly, do hope it's not 12a rated though, Taken 2 suffers due to that rating I feel. More

hmm
Film looks like it could be quite good just a shame that Cruise has been cast as Reacher! Makes me want to laugh at how ridiculous he looks in the role everytime he's on screen. Poor poor casting and a sell out by Lee Child to get the film made! More

Nice
Wicked trailer, more interesting then the first one. Cool that Jai Courtney plays the bad guy. I agree that Jim Caviezel would fit the part nicely aswell cmtu1942. But I think this movie will be cool More

What a Joke
Casting Tom Cruise as "Jack Reacher" is a big mistake, how about Jim Caviezel (currently in "Person of Interest", CBS Thur.) he is 6'2' solid build, has the classic Reacher look and can act. Move over Cruise before you get your "Best actor of the current generation", ass kicked. More

Called me a philistine but I havent read any of the Jack Reacher novels and for someone going in cold I really dont get what all the fuss is about with this film..!? I totally agree with Legion on this. It all looks completely run of mill, see it all before, 'Renegade', 'One Man' will do it his way to get justice. Sounds and looks like it could be a Steven Seagal film.. Am I alone in this?? Plus Tom looks no more 'in character' than any other film he's done recently. Not sure what people are g More

RE: New Jack Reacher Trailer Muscles In
Tom Cruise stars in e=2]]Tom Cruise]. Tagline: 's another generic PG-13 star vehicle. like Cruise, but I'm bored of his action films, I'd rather watch the Fourth of JulyEyes Wide Shutthan see him shoehorned into a role that doesn't suit him. I also can't help laughing at how ridiculously miscast he is in this. More

Agreed. Looks great. Cruise divides a lot of people but I am one that doesn't really care about his beliefs or whatever. He's a great movie star with an incredible track record...looking forward to this. More

Wow.
Wow. Now I really want to see this. Looks like a great flick and the start of a new franchise for Mr. Cruise. More
