Woman In Black Sequel Finds Director
Tom Harper will see the Angel Of Death

14 October 2012  |  Written by James White  |  Source: The Hollywood Reporter

With the success of The Woman In Black at the box office, development of the sequel, The Angel Of Death, has been in motion for a few months now. It already has a different screenwriter (Jon Croker), who served as story editor for the first one) and a new scenario no longer focused on Daniel Radcliffe’s character. The latest development is a new director, with Tom Harper taking on the job.

Harper, a veteran of The Scouting Book For Boys and TV series such as Misfits, Demons, and the excellent This Is England ’86, will bring to life a new tale of terror that has been suggested and developed by the original novel’s writer, Susan Hill.

The Angel Of Death is set during World War II, with Eel Marsh House seized by the government and turned into a military mental hospital. This time around, our way in is Eve, a nurse working there who soon comes to realise she’s got more to deal with than shell-shocked soldiers. Especially when a group of evacuated children visit, stirring the house’s darkest inhabitant.

"This will be a great opportunity for me to collaborate with a brilliantly talented team on the next instalment in this exciting series,” Harper says in a statement picked up by The Hollywood Reporter.

Hammer Films is once more backing the movie, but there’s no word on a start date yet.
