First Look Star Trek Into Darkness
A tiny glimpse of J.J. Abrams’ sequel

05 October 2012  |  Written by Ali Plumb  |  Source: Team Coco

Star Trek Into Darkness is a highly anticipated film. So highly anticipated, in fact, that when director J.J. Abrams reveals just three frames of it on Conan, it's still very much of interest.

Abrams was on Conan O'Brien's chat show to promote his NBC TV series Revolution, but knowing that the whole multiverse and his pet sehlat is clamouring after news on his Star Trek sequel, he revealed the sneakiest of sneak peeks of that too. So sneaky, in fact, that it could be the whole reason the phrase "blink and you'll miss it" was first coined.

Below is a couple of minutes of the accompanying interview, where Abrams sets up the still because, let's be honest, that's what it is really of Zachary Quinto's Spock in a special Prometheus-style "crazy suit", in a volcano. That's right, a Vulcan in a volcano. Why is he in a volcano? Abrams doesn't say. Is this all just a massive gag and these three frames won't actually appear in the film? Abrams also doesn't say.

All that can be said is that it's a good joke. A good joke in the way that it makes you both excited about the film and also pokes fun at the whole hype machine surrounding the Star Trek franchise.

Still no pun intended here's the, um, still, in question so you don't have to spend ages playing and pausing over and over.

Star Trek Into Darkness is set for a May 17 release next year.

Thanks for the LOL
As a fan of TOS, I loved it and it certainly does put the "must have information" hype into perspective. I for one don't like spoilers and really do/can wait for the movie to hit theaters. More
