Exclusive: New Poster For The Sessions
2B or not 2B...

28 September 2012  |  Written by Phil de Semlyen

Indie drama The Sessions makes its way to the BFI London Film Festival next month on a wave of critical plaudits. The film, which makes its UK debut at the festival, has won over festivalgoers around the world, including the Audience Award at the San Sebastian Film Festival today, with its oddball smarts and saucy charms. This new poster repeats the trick with some cunningly disguised innuendo. See if you can spot the saucy charms here.

Written and directed by Ben Lewin, The Sessions charts the true-life travails of San Francisco writer Mark O’Brien (John Hawkes), a man who's paralysed from the neck down and reliant on an iron lung, but determined to kick-start his sex life at the age of 38 with the help of a surrogate. Not the Bruce Willis kind.

In steps said surrogate (and poster pal) Helen Hunt to help get his sex party started. If it sounds glib - and we're probably not helping there - it's lit up by a fully committed performance from Hawkes, a must-see turn in every film role he takes.

The Sessions is showing at the London Film Festival on October 16 and 17, before getting a full UK, erm, release on January 18, 2013.
